Imagine you go out to dinner. everything was perfect. you get home to police lights everywhere and fire fighter holding a burnt mush grow.
SWIM wants to know how does SWIM fire proof a grow. mushroom grow.
Metal cases? Metal safes? wont there be stale air? what are some ways to fire proof?
Prevention my son! PREVENTION!

I'm not sure I understand what you're wanting to do. Honestly if my home is going up in flames, the last thing I'd want to remain intact would be my grow op. Everyone on the block could see your operation if it survived the fire.

"Everyone on the block could see your operation if it survived the fire" im friendly, i'll try to make this easy to understand. if its fire proof, how would everyone seee the operation if it's safely behind fireproofing? if it's just grown without fireproofing, then probably yeah if it survived the fire your right "seen or caught by everyone on the block"
im asking how to fireproof a grow so if a fire did happen, no firefighter would know whats in the metal case or in the fire proof selection of choice of fire proofing. Though if the mush grow survived you might be right, the burnt mush smell cooked in that fireproof metal choice may melt and burn it, thus caught. there has to be a way to fire proof it safely without ever getting caught.

Maybe the better question is this: What method will keep you safe from being caught by all obsticals such as fire. Accidents do happen even to those most serious and nurturing a grow.
Prevention theories are important. Such as if the fire doesn't burn away all the evidence or how to preserve the grow without being caught as evidence in the cases of fire. I hope I'm not confusing everyone.

That's clearer, but unfortunately I don't grow so I have nothing else to offer. Hopefully someone will be able to chime in with some good answers for you. I hate reading stories of people being thrown in prison because their grow op was discovered after an event occurred that was completely beyond their control.

Sounds like you should be growing outdoors in a bed of manure or wood chips.

Accidents happen all the time, everyday, retarded or not, right? Wires can burn out while away. Setting the house on fire is 1. Accident is another. ya know?
I didn't mean if one burns the house down themselves. lol "god damn it, are you fucking with me" - bad santa At least some people on here "get" what i mean I meant if if it's out of your hands such as while going out wire burns.

Install a self-destruct mechanism in the grow that is triggered by the heat of a housefire.

None. Fires start more or less randomly, sometimes. A bad electrical connection or an overloaded circuit starts many homes on fire while the owners are away or asleep.

right. i can understand worrying about a large wattage HID operation in a closet... but i don't understand what the OP is so worried about.
i mean, you're just going to have some jars sitting in the dark dude....

swims not having any jars doing anything in light nor dark. swim is trying to be mindful of what words are used.
swim worries like a mother archetype.
prevention is swim's greatest potential.
The wrong man using the right means,
the right means work in the wrong way.
perhaps it's my nature to be overly protective,
perhaps we each are here to fullfill what the other lacks
some people might say i'm overly protective,
though this may be half true (think iching)

I hope i didn't scare anyone or convince anyone that their mushrooms kits were going to self ignite and burn (side question: electrical humidifiers any potential of fire? )
I could imagine a relaxed grower finding this and freaking out thinking "oh shit" "mushroom kits are likely to burn" Some of you understood what i meant.

Why would a mush grow catch on fire? The flourescent light on above your fruiting chamber? maybe those dangerous spray bottles full of water?
In essence, I think the best way to fire-proof a grow would be to fire-proof your house. Im sure there are plenty of websites/books dedicated to that out there.

look, do you honestly believe that if you had a steel or fireproofed grow op that the fire inspector wouldn't persist in investigating such apparatuses? I mean, no offense, but that's just common sense if contemplating such fantasies of paranoia to the inevitable end result. Outdoor or underground. Same goes for herb.

Depending on the size of your grow, those safety boxes for valuables are usually fire proof and tamper proof.
You could always set it up with fireproof insulation around it, or set it up so there is nothing flammable around, or put everything in a giant glass container, or plexiglass with fireproof insulation along the outside and make a chamber for all the tubs/jars and stuff.
Seems pretty extreme, but that's how I would go about doing it.

Well said.
On a side note, I almost did that one time. FYI if it's 4AM and you've been drinking for ten hours, you really shouldn't be washing your hands in rubbing alcohol and then be flicking a lighter/lighting your burner immediately afterwards. Your whole arm will flare up. Made my house smell worse then anything. Awful, I tell you.
BTW excellent looking hydro gro. How many plants on that table?
