Finally a psychic got her thumb caught in the door jamb as millions in fines were leveled against this phony by the F.C.C.(?).

Okay, try and switch things around Swami...
How do you feel about those "scientists" who get a degree in some field or another and this suddenly makes them qualified to state "facts" like no tomorrow... you know the type. Well these people are to science as people like Ms. Cleo are to the New Age movement.
Just trying to spread some infectious understanding...

I agree with you! People are in such a hurry to see someone get punished, that they dont stop to think about, what if it was them, or what if it was someone they love. Everyone should be free to do as they please(within certain boundries)! Not trying to be totally cliche, but "Dont judge a book by its cover" and "Dont believe every newspaper article you read."

The fines actually had to do with the way she would overcharge and hold people on the line at $3.99 per minute. It had to do with out-an-out fraud, not with her claim of being psychic. There is NO defense in this case.

IMO Swami, as soon as you are in contact with ANYONE who gets paid via a pre-authorized billing system that is contingent on how long you talk ,you KNOW you're getting screwed*
* not meant to imply that ALL psychics are frauds, i honestly don't know....i'm referring to anyone in ANY industry that charges by the amount of time they can keep the sucker on the phone, caveat emptor

I feel that the lottery is a pretty good indication that psychics, as advertised on TV, don't exist. Show me somebody that cashes in on the one million dollar jackpot each week and I will change my viewpoint.

Perhaps I should have bolded my "as seen on TV" statement. The psychics that are on TV begging you to call them in and give them your credit card number so they can help you have one thing, and one thing only, on their mind, greed.
a BIIIIT suspicious if someone keeps winnin the jackpot
You mean, suspicious, like believing that they really can tell the future?
Damn, I see why Swami likes this so much -grin-

They were fraudulent about when the charges began. People were charged gobs and gobs of money for what they were told was a free call.
I'm sure they expected to start being charged eventually, but they started charging immediately.
