24 hours into drying

hey everyone im 24 hours into drying my first pick of the year... they are under a fan at low speed
however they dont look so hot, they still feel pretty water filled
i was wondering how long it usually takes... if i should resort to an oven... and i have old silica gel and i was wondering if i put it in with that how long that would take to dry on average

Oven will turn them black an mushy, TRUST ME I tried it.
My experience, I put a fan on my mushrooms for 24-48 hours, and then a box with silica gel for another 12-24 to get them cracker dry.
This was, of course before I got a food dehydrator.

Try London Drugs, or Sears.
I had a huge bitch of a time finding one, then my Mom found one for me at London Drugs
I am in B.C Canada.

I just ordered one from Amazon, just make sure to get one with an adjustable heat setting, and a fan.

I live in a humid climate and it takes about 3/4 days in front of the fan and then about 12/24 hours in an air tight tub containing a large amount of recently baked crystal kitty litter to get them cracker dry.
For me it would be perfectly normal if they were still rather moist after just 24hrs.

It's ok, you can rotate them around alot. Start spreadin 'em out works just like a dehydrator.

I find that hard to believe amazon.ca or sears.ca don't have any. I wouldn't give up on online vendors. Even wal-mart.com should have those. Or any dept. store like Macy's, Robinsons May, JCPenny, etc. etc. I wouldn't waste my time if it's not on their website.

I've known it take more than 4 days to be fully dry, even in my home made fruiting chamber (check my pics).

Oh no, I'm just sayin' that it is unbelievably bullshitty, and a little odd. I believe ya though.
Perhaps there's a bigger market for like campers dehydrating fruit or making jerky. Maybe outlets like that could have dehydrators. If you think of any other type of profession or hobby that uses them try and look out those vendors.

Oh man, I just described something as unbelievable then said how I believe you. I probably should have used a better word than unbelievable.
