I have a question about Golden Teacher strain/race. I am wondering, from colonization to fruiting, would it take more than 9 weeks at 70+ F? For fruiting I would ensure there is 75+ F temperature but it's too much money on the electric bill to do the same for the first 3 weeks (it's a cold room). I am attempting to grow it BRF tek in half-pint short jars.

Any tips would be greatly appreciated. I have a family reunion to go to on the west coast and don't want to leave the beauties unattended for a week or more.

Thanks!

:peace:

yeah but I'm doing SGFC and I actually got the bottle and heater then returned it. it fluctuates way too much. tub in tub would be more beneficial but even that technique is not beneficial from my experience (not with growing but checking the temp and how often it fluctuates and if it even works). i have a tower heater which gets the room to 75 degrees quick and keeps it there if i leave the rooms door closed. it knocks down humidity by 20rh (from the usual 50%) but i figure if i leave a cool mist humidifier or even a warm one it will do the trick.

i'm pretty set on conditions, i even have this reptile sprayer i got from petco that works like the ones in grocery stores that mist the veggies ($4). got a spare plexiglass to fan with, got timers for lights (12/12), got the chamber set up, jars get here tomorrow and syringe either tomorrow or saturday. got the tape, got the ingredients, only thing i may need more of is perlite but even then i think i am set.

anyways, thanks a lot guys. much appreciated. this forum/community is very helpful. long live shroomery.

Does anyone know where Golden Teacher originated from and/or what countries are known to pertain it?

Golden Teacher
The Golden Teacher is a classic cube. GT is very domesticated and is a good candidate for multispore inoculation.

Nobody seems to know where the Golden Teacher Cube came from but it was likely discovered in the Gulf region of the USA. This cube has been around for quite a while and has been sold by many vendors. It can produce average to large flushes of average looking cubes. Some GT's can grow to be quite large. Some may display a nipple on the top of the cap and according to Workman, the occasional 'wart'. Colonization and fruiting times may be a little slower than average. Opinions about the GT are quite mixed. Some love it, some hate it.

Yeah I read that. My question is about the real origins. I've heard mixed things that it's indigenous to America, that it's from SA, maybe even Asia.

I'm just wondering if anyone actually did an analysis on it and found it's twin or parent strand.
