Are there any strains that are particularly suited for outdoor cultivation? I was thinking of considering some Ecuador and Cambodians. Is there a difference between strains as far as their outdoor fruiting capabilities are concerned, or does the saying "a cube is a cube" still hold true?

but yea all cubes are the same, rather it be indoors or outdoors as long as the conditions are provided they'll grow
That is a really good idea actually. I didn't even think of that. I was just going to go with cubes because that is what I am used to and have had success with outdoors. Are the yields about the same for wood lovers outdoors as cubes outdoors?

I usually grow Ecuador every year, just because it has been consistently reliable for me. I always am up for trying new strains. I am going to attempt PE this time around. I will use PE mostly indoors and Ecuador outdoors. I may try a few patches of PE outside, but I have heard they are a little more finicky than most strains, so I would figure an outdoor setting wouldn't yield the best.
Brazilian you say? I have been eying that strain for some time now. Did you get those spores from Ralphsters or Hawkseye? I am looking into some Cambos to try too. I am just so comfortable with Sporeworks that I feel going with another vendor (although they may have some different strains) wouldn't be worth it.
I am going to go with cubes again for outdoors opposed to azurs. I like the idea of multiple flushes throughout the summer. I can't even imagine having to wait till fall for some azur fruits. I don't have the patience for that.

I would personally stick with sponsors. The Sporeworks have been great to me, plus they give you a free spore syringe if you just type in "Shroomery" under the comments section of your order.

95 F? That is pretty damn high. No wonder you have such stretchy mush. Try dropping down to 65 F or so. They will be dense as can be.

I would recommend Ecuador, but the old saying holds true, "a cube is a cube."

I really believe that a cube is a cube (mostly), but there are definitely some characteristics that vary from strain to strain. Take PE for example. It has been highly domesticated and has very different characteristics than other cubes. I don't think that the "cube is a cube" statement necessarily always holds true. We also have to remember that many here inoculate via MS, which itself causes variation within a strain.
