First Grow! Please Help

Hello everyone, I am having trouble with my first attempt. I inoculated some brown rice flour/vermiculite cakes with Psilocybe Cubensis Amazonian spores. The ½ pint jars colonized fast. In 14 days the jars were covered in the white of mycelium. I waited another week and birthed the jars at 21 days old. Nice mushroom smell, to my knowledge the cakes looked healthy at birth. I dunked the cakes in spring water for 24 hours (room temp) then rolled them in dry vermiculite. I placed the cakes upside down on top of jar lips in my plastic bin that I am using for a terrarium. I placed about 4-5 inches of moist pearlite in the bottom of the bin. I mist and fan the box 3-4 times a day. (I just mist the inside sides of the box.) It has been nine days since I placed the cakes inside the box and there are no signs of growth. I am starting to grow worried that the grow is a failure. Should I cold shock the cakes as a last effort?

it sounds like you did everything right. give it a few more days, pinning can take up to 2 weeks. have the cakes grown any fuzzy mycelium while in the terrarium?

Some of the cakes have a fuzzy mycelium around the base of the cake.

The bin is sealed with a lid, however, i drilled plenty of holes in all sides and the lid. At the moment the cakes do not receive much light. Maybe 3-5 hours a day of indirect light from a small lamp. What would you recommend?

Two cakes have pins. One cake has a single pin and the other cakes has three. They have stayed the same size for 24 hours. . The others are still not working. I noticed a slight blue-green on top of some of the cakes. I hope it is not a contaminant. Any ideas? Wish i could add a pic.

I have an update and another question is someone can help.
The cakes have pins but each cake only has 1-3 pins. It has been around three days. how does one cause the cakes to show more pins? Thanks

Wait. Patience is the #1 attribute to have in this hobby. They are probably just early poppers. When the veils begin to break pick and re-dunk. You should be pleased with you next flush.
"Indirect" sunlight for 30 min would be a good start.

You should use daylight variety CFLs for lighting. This may help by giving you more pins. Smudge the blue green area with your finger, if there's green on your finger it's most likely trich. Someone said you could rinse/wash that stuff off, but I don't know if it'll work ... Good luck.

Sometimes it means they are short on water, you could try filling a saucer with water and sitting your cakes in it to let them rehydrate. Hope this helps..

Like the others have said turning blue can be a sign the cakes are dry.
Turning blue can also be a sign of bruising, on my first grow i was so excited i kept handling my cakes to check their growth and i noticed where i would bump the shrooms they would bruise blue.
