the cure to getting over a bad trip/acute psychosis
    #10547620 - 06/21/09 01:29 PM (14 years, 8 months ago)

so 3 months ago i had a bad trip and for like 2 months i thought i was gunna be insane, i recently started running 2 miles a day and drinking a muscle milk protein shake and all my fruits and veggies every day, i also go to a psychiatrist and he gave me a 7mg of abilify to take and ive been doing much better after only 2 weeks all i get now is racing thoughts and anxiety every so often but i can fight off the anxiety, i know eventually all of this will go away. i think of it as i just bruised my brain and it will take time to heal

always look on the bright side no matter how gloomy situations get turn it into something funny and the anxiety will eventually subside itself

What do you think it was about the trip that sent you into this psychosis?

That may not be the best question for OP to dwell on in the wake of the experience...

“Strengthened by contemplation and study,
I will not fear my passions like a coward.
My body I will give to pleasures,
to diversions that I’ve dreamed of,
to the most daring erotic desires,
to the lustful impulses of my blood, without
any fear at all, for whenever I will—
and I will have the will, strengthened
as I’ll be with contemplation and study—
at the crucial moments I’ll recover
my spirit as was before: ascetic.”

Perhaps... but he/she seems reasonably reconciled.
