you'll get nowhere if you can't "cook" anything.

er, i take that back. you could order some already made myco-bags or BRF jars and spore syringes. but it's sort of expensive that way. imho, shroom growing ain't for the impatient.

Ok ill make my question simple, how can i sterilize horse crap and straw, with a conventional oven, and a normal pot and lid. i just dont have a pressure cooker, thats what i ment to say, i was just stoned. can i mix the straw and poop the way i want it, then put it in qaurt jars and boil them. How long will it take?

Well first you have to dry the poo and soak the hay (strange isn't it) Then you mix those too and put them in a pillow case. Then you put the pillow case into a pot (on top of something so as to not burn your pillow case) and fill the pot up with water to about 1 1/2 inches below the rim. Then put something on your pillow case to weigh down the poo. Then pasteurize. I don't feel like typing it out, and there are plenty of teks out there explaining this, so just look around, you'll never get anywhere in this hobby if you don't take some initiative. Good luck.

You may still want to consider getting a Pcooker, its a very wise investment. I picked mine up at walmart for $25. And if you don't want your mom to know what your doing, you can get a hot plate and do it in bedroom.

Let`s see..... You live with your Mom..... and you can`t "cook anything".... and yet you want to boil or bake horse shit......lol... that doesn`t make much sense man. If you are trying to be discreet...."cooking" crap in your house will definetely smell

Cooking crap in your house really doesn't smell all that bad, if the poo is properly dried. In fact, I've found that grains smell much stronger after being PCed than poo does after being pasteurized, at least IME

real deep george.
I personally don`t think birdseed smells at all. But I also don`t think dung or straw smells bad either. Guess that`s just me though.

I bet you think your own shit don't stink either, eh? J/k. I don't know, it was such a strong and penatrating smell when I did birdseed for the first time, the last couple of times haven't smelled too bad, but that's cause I took the PC outside to shake the jars, I know its unsterile, but hey, gotta do what the old lady says, it is her house.
