Hi there! went to the local nursery a few days ago and bought a big cactus... the cactus weren't labeled and the worker wasn't sure of the species either... i was looking for san pedro/peruvian torch (which i think this might be).. so if anyone can help me with the id, it would be appreciated:)

Very neat specimen!
Looks like either a pedro or torch or even a macrogonus .
Any way you can get a closer pic for ID sake?
But I beg you, please hang on to it, that is an EXTREMELY awesome plant!
Wait for the pup to get bigger so you can take it off and start a new plant.

I looked in your gallery and saw this pic

Same cactus?
If so I'd say T. Macrogonus or a short spined Peruvianus.
The red/brown spines make me think this.

Nice find!

They're pedros. Let them heal for about a month before you plant them. and Don't bump old threads, start a new one.
Anything I miss?
