What is a better type of tray to use? Wide and short or Tall(deep) and small?

I think that wide and short would be better because there would be less of a tendency for stagnet air to "pool" in your casing container, especially if one were to employ a bubbler in their set up.

There was deff a small stagnet factor last time I used a tall and small one. That and the mushies like to wind around eachother dropping spores like a sick S&M game. But the fruits were very good. Maybe it was beacuse the temps were right and my frog used a full quart of Tressure coast.

The small wide ones take up so much room in a tupp. But if it is the better way to go, I am going there. One thing I like about em if the Wiiiide pinset =) (had to say something nice about the small/long ones too)

if you do your shut right and are just casing cakes, it just depends on how far apart they grow. you'll get the same.

This is a question I've been pondering as well. Is it better to have a deeper substrate and casing layer for more moisture retention, or a wider, more shallow setup for more cropping surface? Is there an advantage one way or another, or does it amount to the same thing? I'm just now starting casing experiments, but if anyone knowledgeable has any input I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Depth would be more importan tthen surface area. A pan 4W X 4H X 4D would bebetter then a pan 16W X 16H X 1D.
