I've got some opinions on this but i was wondering if its feasable to use 1 lb of colonized dung as spawn for bulk substrate instead of colonized grain. thanks,

So you are going to spawn colonized poo with uncolonized poo, I say go for it, I don't see why you couldn't.

i was told--- "Poo is not a casing material, it is a bulk substrate, just like the compost that you spawned. Use the coco only as the casing layer."

basically yeah, consurns of contaminations arose, but with a good ratio, i cant see how this could be different from colonized grains or anything.

Me neither. I say give it a go, then you'll know for sure, I mean you don't have much to loose, well besides the possibility of a shit load of fruits.

Just remember that the reason rye grain is used in the first place is because of its ability to break up into individual kernels. A quart jar holds about 1000 kernels, each one acting as a seperate innoculation point.

Hehehehe, smart ass, actually I think its in "The Mushroom Cultivator" by Staments/Chilton. There's a chart on p. 43 that shows how many kernels/gram. Crazy, huh?

a cheese grater would be great cause you buy one for cheap and use it just for cultivation purposes, blender would be too, well shitty (wouldn't want to use it after the poo was in there), if neither of these, just wear latex gloves and break 'em up by hand.

Just do an entire living room and throw the colonized dung up into the ceiling fan.

I know you're not using brf, but as a side note, the cheese graters are so great when using BRF cakes, so many inoc. points.

i dont know how well this would work for a bulk spawn, but i will definately keep it in mind for further poo spawns if this works.
