Does anyone if there is such a product for temp control?
    #10542198 - 06/20/09 11:27 AM (15 years, 6 months ago)

I'm looking for a thermostat that I can plug into the wall and kick various things on and off when the temp gets to low or high. I've been to Lowes,Homedepot etc and try searching with no luck. The guy @ ace did say something about a retrostat?

You can just buy a thermostat and hook it up to anything.  A thermostat is just a switch that turns on or off depending on how it's set.  Just buy a thermostat, wire it to whatever you want the switch to turn on or off, and there ya go!

I dont want to do any wiring I'm horrible @ that. I was looking for something to plug into the wall. I found a reptile heater w/a thermostat or even a fish heater this could keep my temps up but a want to have something that kicks in when it gets to hot.

I purchased this brand locally at an exotic pet supply store (paid around $25.00 as I recall).  I've used it for just under a month with excellent results (has kept temperature very consistent).

I got mine at Lowes or Home Depot. It's a Lux brand thermostat, does exactly what you said you wanted to do. Cost about $15, I think.

As Todd mentioned, pet store/supply is a good place to look.  I used to use a zoomed repti-temp 500r.  This is a great product and always maintained temps to within a degree or two.  Just like your description, just plug it into the wall, and plug you the device you wish to control.  Hope this helps,

mycomancer
