Myco-bag question

Hey I was just wondering how long it takes to see the first signs of growth from a myco-bag?
It has been 7 days so far since I injected my myco-bag with 3cc of mazatapec strain,and I don't see any growth yet,how long does it usealy take to see first signs of growth?
I am trying to keep it in the dark "in a box" and keep the temp above 70 but I still see nothing,anyone got any info on this?

don't know about mazatapec, but TC took 10 days, and KS took 21 days.

Ok thanks.So I guess I shoulden't be worried about it yet,it seems like all the myco-bags take a little time.I also read that mazatapec strain is a slower colonizer anyway so I don't know?

My Mazzies took a wee bit longer to start colonizing than most others I've tried. Try to keep your bag above 80 degrees, as close to 85 as you can keep it. I have found that they like it warm when colonizing. Good luck

Alright thanks,I will keep it as warm aa I can,it is hard becuase we live in a apt. with radiators and they come one when ever they want,only when it get real cold and stuff,so I have the myco-bag in a boz and then put a couple towles over the box to try and keep it a little warmer,I also have the box right next to the radiator for more heat when it does work.

I use myco bags.

I found that a little space heater in a closet, pointed at the box the myco bags are in, help a lot. Now don't burn the house down. Keep the heater as far away as possible. Then I put a turkey digital thermometer in the box. The heater heats up the box, and the box keeps the hot air in. A perfect 84 degrees.

I want colonization to happen as fast as possible. So that's what i do.

Also, be careful of the radiator. It can suck moisture out of the bags and cause the inncubation to stop. You might want ot mist the inside of the box once a day or so.
