Is it me or did I mess up? I've still got to get more stuff any tips on saving money? I guess its just shipping that racks up. I bought BRF for about 11 bucks and new mason jars for 10 bucks but shipping was another 10 bucks. Also got B+ for 25 bucks. I know I'm spending way too much at this point.

BRF for 11 bucks!? What did you buy 10 pounds? I usually get it for like 2.50. You can find almost everything you need at lowe's/home depot or a good agricultural shop and your local walmart. Don't buy online, shipping sucks.

My whole first grow didn't cost that much. Hit up thrift stores and the dollar store.

Aw fuck. Oh well whats done is done. Technically I haven't paid for the BRF but I'll remember to go to some thrift stores tomorrow and also does it really matter what storage container I buy? Do I need two? I will be storing it in a 4 by 10 closet at an elevated 8 foot shelf.

Storing what the jars while they colonize ?? If the answer is yes.. You can actually just let the jars sit around on the counter.

Yeah I thought so but after I can use a rubber maid filled with perlite and just sit up there right? How often would I have to move the terrarium from its original location?

Ive got a question about part 2, is that necessary in order to inoculate the jars or is it ok as long as your really careful?

Man, I think Brown rice flour should be renamed into "ground up brown rice" or GUBR and save a whole heap of new folk a load of money and time searching for something Ive never even seen on sale in my whole life on a supermarket shelf.
Its brown rice, mashed into flour using a foodprocessor, blender, coffeegrinder, a pestle and morter, 2 big round stones with a watermill, a hammer or a ninja.
Canning jars are expensive where I live so I used 6 drinking Glasses and 6 Plastic tuppaware kiddie cups instead, The Glasses made up a hopefull but not to optimistic outdoor grow due to a little bit of green appearing on a few of them but the tuppaware ones are starting to fruit now for my first grow.

I have found brown rice flower in my local health food store along with rye and wheat berries, millet and oats. They love me there! I think the brand is red mill or something like that. As far as money if you get addicted to the science of it all it can really add up but its worth every dime

Most chain grocers should carry the grains you need in their organic section. I spent a bit of money on my first grow, but I was in it for bulk production.

That's pretty much the case even if you're not. Those jars, and that brf should last you a bit.

Bob's Red Mill BRF is found in any decent-sized grocery store or health food store for about 2.99. Their website even shows what retailers are close.

BRF wasn't sold where I live so I was SOL. But, I ended up getting Organic Rye Flour instead and it seems to be doing fine. My local grocers and my local wal mart neither carried BRF.
So far though, we've got just under 120 bucks total with a pressure cooker.

Guys, a coffee grinder and some brown rice then presto BRF! If you can grind up most grains into flower it'll work. Also I like to add a teaspoon of gypsum for every cup of flower(it just doesn't hurt). If you can steep some shit into a nice brown tea use that instead of straight water. Just a few tips that have worked for me.

I never thought about that, grinding my own flour that is. You use the organic whole grain rice right? if so, I could buy a big bag of that stuff and go to town.
Also, what do you mean by brown tea? Like regular tea used to make sweet tea?

yes you can get a bag I do recommend organic not just for your shrooms but for you too. I would find the brown rice first buy a small bag of others and experiment. By tea I mean get some field dried horse shit and break it up. Then get a coffee filter and wrap it(the shit that is)up in it. Stapling the edges work well then steep the poo bag in hot water for an hour or so.
