I've got a few cactuses...I like them because they only require attention about once a month (if that) for water.
Your avatar is great btw.

I have a few small cacti, bamboo, and some funky spiky thing my mother traded with me. All of which are sitting on the dining room table! Nothing like eating with plants

Man I got loads of plants, even all round my office at work. Tending to them seems to calm me down when I'm stressed. Everyone should own a plant.

Yes, they sure do. I know the spikey thing you're talking about too, frog.. it doesnt need to be watered, either?
Right now I've got a 4 foot bamboo tree that refuses to sprout from the sides =P so its a stick with a whole bushy top of leaves. I'm going to keep an eye out for a small healthy rubber tree, and a creeping charlie.
Yeah, green is keen.

I have nine different house plants. I don't know what any of them are named, they all came from Wal-mart though. I also have some bamboo and a cactus bowl with three different cactus types. I totally love my plants.

I have a christmas cactus and a small palm thing. Both of them are pretty low maintenance, I water them maybe every week or two or fifteen. Anyhow they're tough as nails now.
I was going to get more plants over the summer but kept forgetting. And now that its winter, well, I can't imagine any plants being excited about moving in.

Got plenty! Don't know many of the names. Maybe 20 or so. I also have a dozen cactus and succulents. I have to have plants. It's a good hobby. My plants do very well considering I'm a city boy.

Currently I have a couple of cactusessss.
As a former member of the North American Cactus and Succulent Society I can tell you that each major city normally has an annual cactus show and most of them have Lophophora williamsii for sale.

I saw that thread but the first time I looked I didn't notice any cacti. Guess I was distracted.
If you really want I'll drag out some old id books and give it a go. A quick glance tells me it's in the Trichocereus genus.
I used to have a lot of cacti, psychoactive ones even.
Ariocarpus fissuratus, Trichocereus peruvianus (over 250 of them), a couple dozen Lophophorus williamsii, and a bunch of others.
Cacti are pretty cool and are the inverse of mushrooms in that they take a long long time to grow. The place where I used to get the Lophophora williamsii from had a motherplant that was as big as a soccer ball. It always got about a dozen pups each year. This same grower had trays of them that had about 500 seedlings per tray. That kind of stuff is pretty common in the cactus clubs. Everybody is all hush hush about it but they feel as if they have a right to have at least one of every species in their collections and the government can go f* themselves. If I really wanted some I know a guy that grows them who is less than 1/2 hour from me. Us Natives always got connections for medicine.
Cheers,

I definitely want to have a house plant, show it the good life. But I don't get much light in my apartment, what's an indoor plant that would do well? Ferns, I guess?

I just started renting an allotment that's ten square rods. Rather big. I even got a free greenhouse with it. I'm busy preparing it for next year when i'm going to grow some black henbane, atropa belladonna, and a few other weirdy pagan magic herbs that i may take a liking to. I know this is supposed to be about house plants but I don't have any indoors (unless you count the shrooms). I'm going to get some peyote seeds soon and start those off, so i'll have a few house plants then.
I used to grow cannabis in my bedroom cupboard, but i quit smoking the stuff as i wasn't getting anything done in my life.

Congrats! The atropa belladonna... would that be close to Datura? It sounds familiar. I see that growing vigorously here in the city. It is known as Jimsonweed. I met a funny person who had a forest of this plant dominating her front yard. She claimed she had no idea about drug use. (I interrogated her vigorously ). She wore bizarre green sunglasses and had a thick N.Y.C. accent . She acknowledged it was Angel's Trumpet, Moonflower, or something else. Anyway, she told me I could harvest the pods . So I have a few houseplants-- I'll post some pics.

Atropa belladonna, AKA, deadly nightshade.
Datura and belladonna are varieties of the Solanaceae family. And are very closely related.
Henbane is also in the Solanacae family, although i don't think that it's as closely related to the belladonnas and Daturas, although it contains the same alkaloids, in varying degrees.
I've never tried them, but i'm more than eager to have a go. I should have a nice crop growing by next summer so i'm looking forward to then. Best of all is that they're totally legal.

Thank you for that specification. These plants are dangerous I'm sure you're aware. I did try 10 Datura (not sure which species) seeds raw. It wasn't great cuz I was driving around. I felt slightly drunk and got a terrible cottonmouth. I think a higher dose (in that form) would have been terribly uncomfortable. I'm still open to trying it. Not anytime soon though.

I was going to use the leaves. Dry them out and slowly increase the dose. I've got some very acurate scales so i can dose exactly where i want to.
I've read a few reports on these plants where people have really fucked themselves up, so I'm planning to take it easy.
One thing I've learnt in my very long and varied drug career is that it's better to take too little and do a little more next time than take too much and regret it.
