Trumpets ID PLEASE

Habitat:
Woods on side of trail in Virginia

Gills:
No gills.

Stem:
Lengthy blackish and grey

Cap:
Sunken in, curly

Spore print color:
Unknown, i dont know how to print a trumpet. Any info would be great!

Bruising:
No bruising

Other information:
Good smell. Are there any known look-alikes?

La trompette de la mort, Craterellus cornucopioides, could be fallax but i believe they are the same thing now.  Fallax will have salmon collored spores while cornucopioides is white.  You can kind of just lay them smooth side down on paper for a print, the fallax will stand out as the underside will turn salmon color.  My favorite and first ever wild edible mushroom, congrats.

Thanks, i really appreciate this. My friend and I, just ate 4 after we washed them. we were fairly certain they were trumpets, they were our first, besides some foenisecci lol...which was a funny story btw.
