So your cakes are almost ready to birth. what are your plans now? You might want to start thinking about the birthing and fruiting process. The easy part is over, now let's see if you can grow mushrooms. If, in time, you figgure out the whole Fae paradigm and start growing them, send them immediatly to me for quality controll testing. While I'm waiting....... take a look at www.mushroomvideos.com especially the part about FC's. OR you could do them outside although i wouldn't reccomend it yet. I'm waiting with baited breath..............

Holy shit those jars look nice, I just knocked 10 jars of cambodian myself 2 days ago. When did you first notice them starting to colonize, it's day two here, and absolutely nothing going on as of yet. I know it's waaaay early, but if you're seeing results like this at day 7 I should be seeing something very soon, right?

I ended up choosing Cambodian cause they fruit well on tropical temperatures like where I live, and because they had fame of being quick colonizer. So far half of it was 100% on.
Cubensis is a tropical species, pretty much any strain will grow and fruit under the same conditions.
I largely ignore strain blurb, since your growing from multispore which is a big lucky dip of ginetics. The descriptions are usually descibing an isolate, and while charectiristics do get passed down from the original isolate, working from spores with produce a wide range of results.
When i first started, i went with koh samiu and lipa yai because they were noted as being very potent. I later got golden teach and EQ, didnt notice any difference in potency.
Metobolites are a gel like liquid thats excreted by mycelium, usually in response to stress either from high incubation temps or in response to competitor bacteria and moulds. It can range from clear to yellow to orange.
Generaly any colour other than white isnt good, however, my jars have been starting off very thin almost grey looking that i was sure it was cobweb, it thickened out and got white, now its dulled down and have a slight hint of peach to them. Not sure if its just substrate being seen through but i birthed one of those jars and its a dull white and fresh earthy mushroom smell. Its now recoevering well in a minitub dub

It took 2-3 days to show visable growth is what you mean.
Germination you cant see with the naked eye. What you see is not germinating spores but spores that have germinated days earlier, and have now divided enough times that there is a bg enough mass of cells to be visable.

Where I live it's usually 85-90 degrees now a days, so the temperature trigger is definitely possible, right?

Hi Lucid_Euphoria. I have grown Cambodians a lot and have found that they fruit like most other mushrooms. My Cams have made some beautiful Mushrooms. Just Perfectly shaped. They were generally around 6 inches but were large capped. I have had some big Cam prints. I'm not currently doing Cams but they are on the list for next go around. They are good and strong too. I'll check my supply of Cam prints if you want to give em another try.

Those jars look good! Cambo is known for it's fast colonization and fruiting well in warmer temps. The fact that you got full colonization in 7 days leads me to believe that leaving that crumpled up foil on the jars did not hurt you one bit, probably did not help, but either way no big deal. Go ahead and fruit those bad boys in another day or two. I am sure that they will be fully colonized. Cambo is one of my favorite's because the buzz is so clean and long lasting, don't be afraid to eat more of these than you normally would, they have such a smooth high to them.

With the growth rate exhibited, you will have full colonization in another 2 days tops. The luck of the draw has provided you with a perfect moisture content for your sub(good job when you mixed that up!), along with perfect colonization temps for your strain(cambo does love the heat!). You can wait if you want, but I am thinking 2 more days will be optimal.

Yeah I know! But I've seen RR suggest that you should leave them for a week after full colonization in the jars!!

I'd bet if you waited a week they'll be pinning in vitro before birthing... which isn't really a bad thing I don't think
