Dunk + Roll, contamination risk?

This post is just to confirm that dunk + roll tek is NOT a contam risk. I was thinking about ppl worrying about contams after placing their cakes in terrarium but then realized that after someone dunks their cakes for 12-24 hours, they're then instructed to roll them in dry verm that's not been sterilized. If THIS verm that's directly on top of myc doesn't cause contams, than I think ppl are worrying too much about contams after birthing their cakes.

I know once myc has colonized a cake 100%, it's pretty resistant to competition but those who want to be extra cautions, would it be a safe bet to sterilize the verm in a PC that will be used to roll the cakes in or this step is totally unnecessary?

I already know the answer, just need some reinforcement.

Unnecessary, but it can be done if you want, especially if the verm has been sitting around for long.

But a dunk (in the fridge or cold water to avoid bacterial bloom) and roll will not contaminate your cake.

Crumbling the cakes and casing them (on their own, no substrate added) is a much riskier practice, which is why we recommend dunking and rolling.

I think RR recommends baking your dry verm in the oven at 350F for an hour and letting it cool before you use it for a casing layer on your cakes.

That said, I never do. In fact I don't even rinse them off after I take them out of the dunk. I just take them right out of the 24 hour dunk and put them right in the verm and roll them around. Hasn't been a problem yet as far as I can tell.
