I'm going to get my Bsc, not sure what I want to specialize in, neurobiology, cellular biology are two of my current favorites.
I am curious from those working in the science fields, what do you enjoy, what would you recommend avoiding and any advice you may have please share.
I'm interested in relevant research and pure science so I'm just looking for a field that pays decently (in Science standards) and gives me a challenge.

You can get a Pharm D. in 5 years starting pay over $110,000. You do 2 years of undergrad then get into a pharmacy program that is accelerated and has class during the summer so it is 3 years compared to other schools 4 years. I'm going graduate at 22 with my Pharm D. making $110,000 in a job market where they are still in demand

I was going to do cell biology briefly, but changed to physics early on so I didnt get far in it.
But I can think of one piece of advice that I think is relevant, and that is to streamline your life around the degree. I have seen alot of people go back to school for a physics degree in their late twenties to fifties. In my experience the ones over 30 generally do not finish (with exceptions of course). The main reason they crap out is they just have too many other responsibilities that take up their time. Students who have to care for kids or need to maintain full time employment are at a big disadvantage. With grad school after it can be a decade long commitment with big lifestyle changes.
Or maybe you have no real responsibilities (like me) and are able to complete it just fine.

It sounds like you'll be heading for academia since that's where all the best pure science is done. I think the pay grades are the same no matter which field you choose. Also, you can change fields at any time, so you don't need to worry about specialising during your BSc.
I got my BSc in plant biochemistry, but now I work in neuroscience. I'm applying for my PhD in Drosophila research.
