eating cakes??????????
    #1049688 -

My dog read somewhere that the cakes are actually edible once the mycelium is in a progressed state. IS this true? He has a girlfriend who is anxious for dosing with a friend. I would wait but he might sacrifice a cake. Would this even work?

Yeah, you can eat it.. but the most will happen is probably a stomach ache..

I forgot who said it when someone else asked this question..

It's like growing a tomato plant and eating the tomato plant before the tomatoes fruit..

just wait it out.

i have heard of people eating mycelium, but from what i heard this fellow used rye with no vermiculite in it then miced it with cranberry juice. there is a small amount of silly simon in the cakes though from what ive read. i once thought about doing this, and came up with my own method (maybe i read it somewhere i dont know actually). i am not a chemist and i barely understand anything about organic chemistry but here is what i would do if i were you.
it would be a bad idea to just eat the cake by itself (vermiculite dosent seem friendly). what i would do i buy a bottle of "everclear" if you live in the US or have access to drinkable high proof spirits. or, if you have a still make your own 180 proof alcohol. what you would do is grind the cake up, and throw it in with the alcohol so its totally covered. then wait a few days for it to move into the solution or whatever. then filter off the cake gunk and there you go....a nice silly simon cocktail. let the alcohol evaporate until most of it is gone, and then you'll have a few potent shots.
*it might be possible to use normal vodka, but thats only 80 proof (40%) so it might not absorb as well...i honestly dont know.

damn screw that wait 2 more weeks for shrooms man. cakes dont have much psyclobyin, but their shrooms will make you trip more than the cake itself.

I can personally verify that pre-fruit cakes do contain non-negligable amounts of psilocybin. IME the amount of psilocybin in the cake varies greatly from strain to strain and from cake to cake. The problem with eating cakes is dosing: it's pure guesswork. I have had barely perceptible effects from one, only to be catapulted into a lvl 4+ trip by the next. The only 2 times I have had bad experiences with shrooms were overdosing using this method. I don't do it any more. I say wait for fruits.

Did you just eat the cake, or you extract the good staff first?
How old were the cakes?
