Seems like a oscillating fan in the room would be WAY cheaper/more reliable/easier.

In my experience, Monotubs don't need to humidified unless something goes wrong.

The classic monotub design generally has very poor fresh air exchange.

I've toyed with a design that improves fresh air exchange and it works great. I did a couple tubs that yielded close to a lb dry over a couple flushes(each tub). So I know the concept is sound.

However, I had to constantly mist to compensate for the moisture loss.

In addition to all this, if you want to grow edible in a monotub, the standard monotubs will not work worth a shiat.  They're much pickier about proper air flow.

I have 5 tubs that will go into fruiting in a few days, so they'll be my pilot run.

It's late spring here, lots of rain (most rain we've had in years) so humidity is pretty high already so this shouldn't be hard.  The real test will be running this thing in the winter when the RH is normally below 20%.

If this thing can keep 5 or more tubs with 95% RH AND optimal co2 levels, it'll be golden.

Sounds like a good project to try but you will need some sort of valve system to control the mist, cause like some one already stated it will travel the path of least resistance.

Best of luck spongi with your build!:hairmetal:

I suggest,

            Shelf 1: Penis Envy tubs
            Shelf 2: Albino PE tubs
            Shelf 3: Uncut PE tubs

As of now the flow is pretty even for 5 outlets.  Just judging by having my hand in front of it of each one.

Doesn't necessarily have to be perfectly even.  If it's not, I can always set the timer based on the lowest flow.

Here's a better pic:

The top 5 tubs actually have stuff colonizing in them, should be ready to go in a couple days. They're all 80-90% colonized.

Well keep me informed it, is overall a good idea, and if it works i would not mind copying it because I prefer tubs over a greenhouse..  So It would kinda be the best of both worlds.

All I'd have to do is switch out the tubs for plastic wrap and we'd have a nice little green house.

Of course, you could probably just stick a fogger in there with a bowl of water and get the same effect.

I've made a little progress here.

For now I'm just re-using whatever lighting I've had sitting around from.  At some point I'll replace it all with a 7500k led rope kit.

I'm testing it out on 1 tub at the moment.  I definitely need to replace the fogger I have with a more powerful unit but it's holding the humidity steady @ 90% or so.

5 minutes on, 20 times a day. Lightning is a 23w 7500k cfl on a 12/12 cycle. (8am -> 8 pm)

Sure, once I have some.  I've got 4 more tubs that should be ready to go on the rack in the next day or two.

So, a friend of a friend of a friend of mine got in some deep dodo a few months ago, so about that time I decided just to be safe I'd take the summer off from my mycology projects.  Turns out there was nothing to be worried about, but better safe then sorry.

I managed to get a test run in with this baby before that.  It provided excellent air flow but not enough moisture.  I concluded that I needed a larger fogger unit but due to budget cutbacks haven't gotten around to getting one.  Soon as I can afford one, as well as a more reliable hygrometer and ideally some LED lighting I'll retrofit this and get it back on the road.
