Psilocybe Subaeruginosa Confirm ID please
    #10492449 - 06/12/09 02:29 AM (14 years, 9 months ago)

Habitat:
Same place as I've found them before. Eucalypt bushland near a creek

Gills:
Light cream colour. Caps had black spore deposits on underside rim. Cap colour Dark caramel turning light.

Stem:
Whitish stem with black spore deposits. Bluish tinged several minutes after handling. Hollow stem with brown interior.

Other info:
Plenty of strophs near by.
Immature specimens had cob web attached to gills, with blackish spore deposits.
I have not done a spore print, as they look like subs to me. (hopefully not my last words!!!!)

I have never eaten these before. However my Galah has indicated he might like to try them in a tea of some sort.

So can anyone confirm that they are subs and that my galah wont fall off his perch if he drinks a tea made from them?

There may be a slight concern re OLD MINE tailings near by, but the Galah is willing to try the tea once to see if it makes his plumage more colourful.

What are the chances that my gallah will feel any different from consuming this small quantity? He's heavier than the average galah :-)

P.S. Didn't do spore print, as my Galah is rather eager to try them.

They look to me like subs, check for blue brusing on all of them and do a spore print.

I have to agree that this is a VERY poor reason to not print a mushroom you are unsure of.
However, they are Psilocybe subaeruginosa.

Thanks for the replies.

I realise the idiocy of me not spore printing, however the stems are now all staining blue.

I will spore print them and hope that I get a print within an hour or so.

I don't know who or what "Galah" is or how large he is, but if I ate all of those I would be  :tripping:
