What about LavaLamp and tiny Xmas lights?

Yeah lava lamps are awsome. You'll stare at it for hours. Also, the multi colored christmas lights that are computerized so you can adjust the synchronization are good also. any type of light in the darkness will fascinate most people. glowsticks, laser pointers, lava lamps, glow-in-the-dark stars, whatever.
