First timer, Grow Log GT B+ PB Monotubs with WBS w/pics
    #10479296 - 06/09/09 08:33 PM (15 years, 7 months ago)

First off I like to thank Shroomery.org for all the great help.  I have been lurking here for 3 months planning my first grow.
After slowly gathering supplies I finally got started on May 29.
I received my 3 spore syringes on May 28 ( Golden Teacher,  Pink Buffalo and B+).
I figured I would have a lot of duds so I decided to inoculate a shit load of WBS jars.
Jars Incubating in TiT with fish tank heater(I find my reefkeeping hobby coming in very handy with this hobby)

May 30 --- after PCing 10 qt jars and 6 Pt jars and 3 baby bottles/w honey for LC. I put about 1cc of each strain in baby bottles and split the rest between the jars(saving 1cc of each for more LC in case original failed.

Here is the LC on June 6th

On June 7th ---- I nocked up 12 more pt jars with the LC(4 of each strain) and 3 more LCs this time with karo.
I happy to say that of the original 16 jars I nocked up all are showing some growth.
Here some pics of jars on June 9th

.

The jars I nocked up with LC just 2 days ago are showing more growth then some off the original jars I did with spores(except for GT I think that might be a bad LC), as a first timer I am sold on LC.

I am planning to spawn to coir, coffee grounds and Verm in 3 monotubs.
There will be more updates and pics to follow.

Any suggestions or help would be greatly appreciated.

Again I would like to thank everybody on these boards for their helpful info.

Here is an update:
I shook all of my jars on June 10th they were all about 15% to 40% colonized. They have since exploded in growth.

Here is the jars I nocked up with LC just 9 days ago.

Here are jars I nocked up with spores on May 30.

Most of my jars look like these, but I have a few that are behind and a few that are almost fully colonized.
I can't wait, it won't be long before I spawn to bulk.

Alright, I got 2 of my tubs ready last night(Pink Buffalo and B+).

For each tub I mixed 5qts of fully colonized WBS with 1 brick coir, 1qt of coffee grounds and approx. 1pt of gypsum.

Here a pic of the B+ Monotub.

Here is the Pink Buffalo(I added some verm to this mix because it was a little wet.

I then put my tubs in a nice dark place.

Are my Tubs ready to be cased? [Re: ManHands]
    #10578770 - 06/26/09 08:00 PM (15 years, 6 months ago)

Update:
Here are pics of my tubs as of today

Are they ready to be cased or should I give them a few more days?

Also I had some extra jars and I wanted to try and get some fruit before the 4th of July. So here is a pic of a small 6qt tub that I put just 2 Qts of wbs and cased with jiffy mix just 10 days ago.

I can't wait to eat them.

Results are in!!!!!! [Re: ManHands]
    #10695830 - 07/17/09 06:05 PM (15 years, 6 months ago)

Update:

The results are in:

Pink Buffalo
4.5 oz dry
A mix of big and small fruits some as big as 60 grams wet.
No distinct flushes been picking some every day for about 3 weeks.
Good potency.
Extremely fast grower beat my other tubs by over 2 weeks

B+

over 4 oz dry(not sure exactly ate some and gave some away)
All very large fruits  most over 30 grams wet
No distinct flushes been picking some every day for about 2 weeks.
A week behind the Pink Buffalo tub
Very Potent and very enjoyable

Golden Teacher

Over 5 oz dry
Medium sized fruits pretty consistent in size.
Great canopy whole tub was filled
Very distinct 1st flush picked all within a day or 2.
Very slow grower, pinned about 2 to 3 weeks behind the pink buffalo strain.
Have not eaten yet, hopefully this week or next.

All tubs were done the exact same way!!

It is very exciting when they finally start pinning, I can't wait to check them everyday.  The PB were great and all, but I liked the B+ better.

I kinda of used a mix of a bunch of different teks that I read here and a couple of other sites. I might write out exactly what I did when I get time and if there is interest.

Basically:
5 qts WBS spawn to
1 brick Coir
1 qt Coffee grounds
3/4 qt Plaster of Paris(mixed with water then crushed)
2 dozen eggs shells dried and crushed
cased with jiffy mix

I'm starting out with pretty much the same situation as you but with Argentina instead of PB. Right now my honey/water and brs/water mixes are colonizing and will be ready to knock up some WBS jars very soon. Also doing 3 tubs with coir. Your thread was an inspiration to me! I (and I'm sure lots of others) would be very interested in more detail as to the process that granted you such success.
