Found them in an area with old tanbark and foilage about. Unfortunately couldnt get a photo of the habitat as it was a bit of a surprise find. If theres anything else required let me know, im jus basing the information i give on other ID requests I have seen. Thanks

That one with the gills facing, looks like it has those mites in it that i had the other day. Watch out for that, apparently they can invade your house!

oh, for id's looks for bluing on the stems, and do a spore print, to become familiar with what they look like (subs from location A can look pretty different to subs at location B).
Spore print is done, just get one, cut the stem off and put it face down on white paper. You should get dark brown/purple/blackish sporeprint after a few hours or so.
These look like Psilocybe subaueruginosa to me.

Lucky for you, those look like Psilocybe subaeruginosa.
Make sure they ALL turn blue, especially on the stem,

thanks guys, will check stems and get a sporeprint and then get back to you :-). They are only about 20 minutes picked, should I expect to wait a little bit for them to bruise blue?

Yeah, sometimes it takes an hour, sometimes only a few minutes. Some just dont turn that blue at all on the stems.

Yeah they have all turned blue in the stem region. Just a quick question.
Will be indulging on friday (so excited, haven't tripped since amsterdam last year haha), I have read that since its only a couple of days away I could just wrap them in paper towel and store them in the fridge inside a plastic container. I would be planning to boil them and make a tea to consume.
Does this sound right? This would be the first time I have found and taken my own ones, so don't want to stuff it up :P
Thanks much for all the help, this is a great community!

Boiling them isnt the best idea, as it breaks down the psilocin and psilocybin - the active chemicals in them. A lot of people put fresh mushrooms in strong fruit juice (pine orange or tropical, or something else yummy) and blend it then drink it.
I always dry mine and powder them so they are homogenous. This makes dosing easy, as every gram is as strong as the next (mushrooms vary considerably in potency)
Also, subs are somewhat stronger than the cubes you had in Holland, so look up dosage so you know what to expect!

Sorry to say this, but this is clearly an urban legend. It takes temperatures far higher than the boiling point of water to cause these molecules to disintegrate. You can put them in tea, soups, sauces and on pizza or pasta, it's all good.

Well, all i know is when i make a tea, it goes VERY blue, and the blue is an oxidation product of psilocin. This depends on pH as deprotonation of the psilocin into a phenolate is integral in oxidation. Furthermore, boiling will allow dephosphorylation of psilocybin to occur very rapidly.

To be on the safe side I think i'll avoid boiling, might try throwing them in a blender with fruit juice.. sounds like a nice way to have it! Probably wont dry this batch, but I will setup a drying system for the future, as it would be nice to be able to store them, and dosage sounds much easier that way.

German Kahuna,
I second your point about boiling / cooking with them. I am yet to see any degradation with boiling or cooking them. I guess this causes as much controversy as the lemon tek debate. I think most people who are proponents of not boiling their goods have been scared off from ever testing this for fear they will waste them or at least loose potency. To the op if you have enough to spare I would test both methods.
