I'm sure there's still tons and tons of uninformed police forces that would just be stumped if they caught you with dmt or a RC.

It's nice as a repository of trip reports, but you've got to have your bullshit detector on full-bore if you want to get info from their vaults without ending up misinformed.
whats so terrible about it?
honestly i havent really been there since my highschool days either, (about 8 or 9 years ago) but I remember always seeing many statements of caution about drug use in general.
Yeah, I'm curious as how the information on Erowid is so terrible. There's nothing else really like it on the net.

as long as you take everything from it with a grain of salt, its pretty damn good. trip reports are ok, and the facts and dosages are alright, but again, unless there is some source cited, the articles are a "reader beware" situation.
all in all though, I think its good at providing introductory information.

Erowid's main source of information is the pharmacologists, chemists, etc. who run the place combined with the aggregate of information from users and supporters, isn't it?
On the dosage pages, it has a disclaimer saying that it was about the rough average of doses as reported to Erowid by its users or something like that.

The information pertaining to scheduling tends towards 100% accuracy. Not that the info is that hard to obtain but it is nice to have it all aggregated. That info is pertinent when swimming the RC/Legal high ocean.

how big was the blotter 2-3mg? imagine 5 of them... there are people that could order that from a online vendor take 15mg thinking hes going to tripp balls and end up going crazy as fuck and killing people and giveing drugs a bad name... here is more dosing info from erowid
Oral P. cubensis Dosages Threshold .25 g 1/100 oz Light .25 - 1 g 1/100 - 1/28oz Common 1 - 2.5 g 1/28 - 1/10oz Strong 2.5 - 5 g 1/10 - 1/6oz Heavy 5 + g 1/4oz +
Oral LSD Dosages Threshold 20 ug Light 25 - 75 ug Common 50 - 150 ug Strong 150 - 400 ug Heavy 400 + ug LD50 (Lethal Dose*) 12,000 ug
Oral 5-MeO-AMT Dosages Threshold .5-1.0 mg Light 1 - 3 mg Common 2 - 6 mg Strong 4 - 10 mg Heavy 6 - 15 mg
fuck to me 3mg 5meoamt is fuckng strong everyones body chem is diff though. but if you are an avid mushroom or lsd user and you usually dose on the "heavy" side, as erowid puts it. so you dose a heavy dose of amt = not a good idea. i think i read about people going crazy at clubs in the EU on 5meoamt on 10mg, killing people and shit. ripping throats out with theyre mouth... i dont remember where i read that it could have been propaganda bullshit. i dont really believe much i read online. my thoughts are straying its hard for me to make sence of my own post ill just stop now.

I've laid blotters before and I know you can fit 4mg on a slightly thicker than normal blotter, thats enough of it to give anybody a ++++

I would def classify 7g of mushies as heavy. Ive had my ass kicked quite badly before
Erowid is the shit. Its the most consistent and reliable source on the interwebs. I agree it sometimes lacks in depth information but its always a great place to start when experimenting with new substances

This hits the nail on the head, in my opinion.
Also, I think the trip reports are one of the most valuable components of Erowid. No summary of a drug's general effects can take into account the huge range of individual reactions, especially considering psychedelics. Reading a few well-written trip reports gives you a much better picture of the spectrum of possibilities with each drug. You get the good, the bad, and everything in between, from real people in real situations.
I Erowid.

If they didn't have erowid, they'd just make shit up like they used to.
Case in point: Reefer Madness.
BTW, I love erowid, there's some very good botanical photography. A lot of people know I am very supportive of plant, fungi and animal based drugs, as there's beauty as well as function (a flowering cacti).
Some lab with boiling flasks isin't as romantic imo.
