If I had made this post, I would want someone to take away my drugs. That shit looks fine, fine, fine. Fae, fae, fae. 12/12 high humidity. Don't get tired of waiting now.

You're using fewer air holes then normal. Make sure that polyfill isn't packed tight.
If it were me, I'd give it a light casing and give it much more fresh air. The casing would be to prevent the top of the cake from drying out due to the extra fresh air, so you'd retain high humidity at the top while providing more fresh air.
After that it's just the patience game.

Ya it looks like some hyphal knotting going on there. You should be in good shape. One question for ya though. How did you get the insides of your tubs black like that? Did you spray paint them? I might have to try that out.

To get the inside of the tub black I advised my friend to stretch a black trash bag over the top lip. The bags are just big enough to fill out the tub.
Slits are cut through the plastic to allow for polly fill to be added.

My foaf's plan is to put the tub into the shower and gently run water inside the tub letting water run out the side holes.
Any sugestions as to how long to leave the water running?

Beautiful! Once again my love for Malabar as a prolific fruiter is further grounded in. Fantastic pinset!
Dunking in the shower for 4 hours is excessive. An hour or two is plenty. Depending on your water pressure, you may want to use the faucet and fill up the tub completely and let it sit instead of using the shower-head as implied.

dunk for 4 hours, and don't just run the shower over the top, get another tub, fill with few inchs water put on top, ( or find something to weight the sub down.) imporvise, but an identical tub is the shit here.
running a shower over is not enough, you need the sub, submerged under the water, then run the shower on a trikle to keep the water moving asnd contams off.
really you wanna leave it 4 hours to fully rehydrate.
and then drain for 2 hours, then fresh bag, back it goes into fruiting, pins again in 2 -3 days

well, foaf said the first tub stalled out after its dunk. i think he waited too long picking off tiny fruits.
here's the 2nd tub, started fruiting conditions today cuz foaf noticed white pins that looked like more than just dandruff or hail

lmao talked to the foaf today he put a regular lid on that first tub after he thought it stalled and ignroed it for a few days. its finally starting to fruit again. so now he's got two fruiting tubs at once. all malabar! woot. they're not bad. i ate half a gram of cracker dry caps on a chicken sandwich and felt great for 5 hours

I would recommend picking them just a little bit earlier (before the caps are fully open, before the veil tears away. I think they are a little more potent and prettier and tastier to eat.
Looks damn good though. My "friend of a friend" has some malabar going right now and my(woops I mean his) first tub from the batch is knotting up nicely for the past couple days. Looking forward to some nice pins. I think malabar is particularly pretty, so I'm looking forward to growing some myself(or my friend of a friend rather).
