How hard are those rice cakes

Are the rice *cakes* hard, or soft (its gonna be my first grow i have no idea of how hard these are) but anyways, cuz um... I dont have widemouth jars, will i be able to break the jars with a hammer without breaking the cake?

the cakes are not rock hard and not mushy either (mushy-mushrooms ha ha)
youc an easily break them apart. if you dropped a cake from waist height some of it would break apart maybe but probably it would stay together. think of it like this. you go to the beach and make a sand castle. fill a pail up with damp sand and let it dry a bit. thats about how dense a cake is.
you could break the jars with a hammer if you wanted, i did once cause the damn cake would not come out at all, but thats kinda a waste considering you can use the jars over and over. just try and find wide mouth jars.

yes you can break the jars with out breaking the cakes, but be careful with the glass. I did that once and got cut.

A nice set of widemouth jars is a very good investment, you can use them over and over and over...and over...

otherwise do what anno said and use drinking glasses. If it's your first time, it's best to do it right.

I actually bought a 12 pack of jars, but when I took the box of 1/2 pint widemouth jars i noticed one was missing, so hey, i took the one under it, WOW, I come home, notice, NOOOO their big, not wide-mouth jars AHHHHH
