How To Store LOTS of Mushies?

You may have saw my recent grow, but didn't want to have two posts in one for the sake of someone searching in the future, because I couldnt find anything.
I know the process of drying and usually keeping them in an airtight container with silica of some kind. What do you when you have a few ounces? Buy more jars? I know this isnt unchartered territory to most of you, so what are your suggestions?
Thanks again.

Great advice. Seems like it may be the only option. Curbstop, I've read freezing can hurt potency, you disagree with that?

Buy some dry ice.
Put a chunk of dry ice in the bottom of a glass canning car, along with a desiccant packet and an oxygen absorbent packet. Put the lid on the jar, but leave the locking ring off until the dry ice has melted away.
Dry ice melts into carbon dioxide gas, which is heavier than normal air and will stay in the jar. The lid, without the locking ring, will allow the CO2 to push out all the air in the jar without exploding the glass, yet not letting normal air back into the jar.
Being that the jar is full of pure CO2 gas, along with the desiccant and oxygen absorbent packets, your jar will be free of moisture and oxygen. Moisture lessens the shelf life of the mushroom flesh, and oxygen degrades the potency of the mushrooms.

I heard that grinding them up into a powder and then compressing it into glass jars and sealing it would keep the longest.

Freezing wet mushrooms causes the cells of the mushroom to explode. This would expose the psilocybin to oxidation.

Yes, compressed powder, maybe, but powdered mushrooms don't last as long as whole, dried mushrooms. More psilocybin is exposed to oxidation.

They would be cracker dry before the freezer...

I do not disagree with that, I've read also that it does. But from my experience if it does it is so little that i could not notice, but then again they were from MS so who knows exactly from one mushie to the next exactly what your getting inside.

I didn't think i had to specify the drying process before packaging them

Here's how I would do it.
Clean and prepare them for drying. I slice my up small. Takes a few minutes but cuts 12 hours off the drying time.
I break out a sharp knife and a cutting board and go to town with them, then just dump them into the dehydrator tray by tray.
about 4-6 hours and they're bone cracker dry.
Then I'd load into bags and vacuum seal.
As of now they just go into a ziploc bag and into a cabinet.

Of course they would be dry before being frozen. I'm saying that "freezing can hurt potency" refers to wet mushrooms.

Vacuume seal it is. Ill go to the store tomorrow and see what I can find. Is there a particular brand or they pretty much all the same?
Hope the ~$50 one works great. Dont't want to drop $100 right now. Just got a dehydrator dammit. Then I should have everything, finally. This hobby is the funnest money pit I've ever been apart of. Next to women...

Here's how I do it:
Dry them with Nesco dehydrator at minimum temperature. Put them in desiccant container for 24 hrs for final dry. Bag them up with small silica gel packets. Double zipper Ziploc type bag. Put them in a large airtight tupperware container. The ones that actually have the rubber seal and the snapping side locks. Put about 1/2 lb of bulk silica gel inside. Get a indicating desiccant canister. This will tell me if any of the desiccant in the container is absorbing their limit.
This is probably overboard. Basically any sort of method involving a truly airtight container and desiccant will work.

A dehydrator + food saver is GREAT if you camp or hike. You can prepare gourmet meals that hardly weigh anything to have out on the trail.

a food saver is cheap but you know whats cheaper????
ZIPLOC VACUUM SEAL BAGS!!!!!
I put 2.5 oz in less than 1/2 of a quart bag use the hand held vacuum pump to get the air out and voila!
cost me 10 dollars =-)
you dont want it to suck it down too much, this is why I did it this way (I choose the vacuum level).
you dont want those babies that you just took all that time to grow and dry to end up like a powder or in tons of pieces because the vacuum sealer sucked too hard.
