I feel like I got my $50 worth out of the first one, especially with the multiplayer. My friends and I ran through time and time again, and we HAD FUN.
I don't care if there are 50 maps or 4. Fun is fun.

yeah I still play the first one all the time. But now I'm really looking forward to playing the second one also. It kind of makes more sense because you're playing as different people during the same apocalypse but with different weapons and fighting other types of zombies, sounds awsome to me. HOpefully they'll have more than 4 campaigns.

All I ask is that they put the scope on the gun. Then I will love this game. Its a major flaw in the gameplay to me.

No, not even a scope persay. Just a way of steadying your aim. You know like in most games? Just push down one of the analog sticks. I felt it was too Quakey just running around shooting things. I like it to be a little more realistic.

I don't think you understand the point. What if Team Fortress 2 were released with no ability to play custom maps, when Valve swore the whole time what they looked forward to the most was seeing all the custom maps, but then never released the SDK development tool, and then less than a year after Team Fortress 2, announced Team Fortress 3, which would have new weapons, a few new maps, and ANOTHER big price tag.
Don't waste your energy trying to argue how fun it was, I had EPIC fun with L4D...I just feel like L4D has been completely abandoned almost, especially considering the biggest reason I got it was to try to make a map of my hometown for it. If you look at the wonderful and highly commendable support TF2 has been getting from Valve, its almost heresy the way it seems they are going with L4D.
What I'm saying is... You're a Left4Dead fan right? You HAD FUN right? So why just let it die, when Valve can continue to expand upon it and make it even greater than it already is, just like they've been doing with TF2 for two years.
Hell, I would even spend the money that would have been on L4D2, on a l4d expansion just to see that game grow...I can guarantee there will be many others far more upset about this than I am. Wouldn't you rather have more people to play L4D with anyway?
I don't know, hopefully somebody sees where I'm coming from. It's about love for the game, not the other way around.

Well at the very least I hope this game comes at a discount to those who paid $50 for L4D, when about two weeks later it was dropped to $20.
I think this is worth trying to mention to Valve, ESPECIALLY IN LARGE NUMBERS. Don't just be too lazy to speak your mind, when with Valve it actually does make a difference.

Isn't L4D 2 basically like an expansion pack? I mean it uses the same engine/graphics and everything. Just a new group of people and new weapons/zombies and campaigns.

Expansions are still expensive though. I mean I remember the SWG ones were still like $30.

Still, I wouldn't mind paying for an expansion, if it meant they weren't completely giving up on the original game and its fanbase in an attempt to sucker people out of more money.
Companies who have gotten on the good side of people, like Valve (especially for its TF2 support), should know that they would have enough supporters willing to contribute money to them, for the fact that they respect their fans enough to give them what they want. They have enough supporters that they don't need to cop out and be snakey like it is starting to look like. Only time will tell, but in the meantime, it's worth speaking up.

They're going to probably release L4D 2 at $50 and then 2 weeks later put it back to $20 agian

The game itself wasn't enough for me to buy it after seeing its limitations. Certainly not as much staying power as half life or anything similar. The concept is brilliant but certainly needs to be refined, however I don't think a few new weapons and maps will add to the lack of things to do in the game.
!) Get from point A to B alive.
2) Survive hordes and special infected caste by some omnipotent asshole
3) Game over
Honestly a game that combined the physics of Condemned 2 with the free roaming style of Fallout 3 with a few hordes of zombies in an apocalyptic waste land or city would just make me reallllll satisfied.

L4D has a unique style, and that's what they aimed for. They hit a home run and they deserve the $50. I play ALOT of games... And it goes deeper than "more levels, more weapons, better whatever". Sometimes, a game is FUN.
You jump out of your seat... Your heart races... The comm channel is alive with laughs and good times!
That's worth $50... THAT'S what Valve was trying to do with this title. It takes 4 players, and gives them a super fun time. So many younger kids missed out, trying to finish the levels the fastest, rushing to play Expert, or trying to figure out exploits and glitches.
Just play the game like it was designed, and the fun follows. And having 3 other IRL friends is the best. Especially when one of them sucks, which makes for funny moments.
