the cold shock/dunk TEK was employed friday. they've been in the terrarium since saturday morning. went to fan today and noticed that the myc on the cakes is REALLY FLUFFY. like cotton. no discolorization, no wierd smells, just bright while, and really fluffy looking.
so i wanted to ask if this fluffiness is OK?
they are sitting in a typical rubbermail terrarium setup on top of a metal grate with perlite under it. there is also a fishtank heater in a glass container of water sitting in there for additional humidification as well as extra heat. misting/fanning 3-4 times a day for the last 2 days, with a lamp on top of the unit shining light thru the top of the container for normal daylight hours.

sounds like your humidity may be too high, but if your fanning, it's fine.

"fluffy" mycellum is a sign of high humidity?
if so, think i should shut off the aquarium heater, and just leave the perlite to make the humidity?

i would say its between 74-80. i dont have a guage, so its a little hard to tell. the heater is only up about half way, just enough to evaporate some of the water, but not enough that i need to keep filling it up.
