Construction set backs

Hey guys got a thinker here. In the course of a small construction project that we are doing, we ran into some trouble. Basically attempting to seal and bond plastic to plastic we have had some troubles. If you are familiar with the plastic sheeting that the construction workers hang while doing drywall work or putting an extension on someones house, you will know what it looks like. The problem we are having that when trying to adhere the plastic to one of those blue tarps it never takes. So far we have used 2 different kinds of adhesive and silicone. All of these just lift up when you go to move the plastic even slightly. Got any suggestions? Duct tape was used in postioning, but we are trying to avoid using just duck tape, it just doesn't seem reliable.
Thanks Dave

Try giving the edges you plan on connecting a good roughing with some fine grit sand paper cause the adhesive need something to connect to that is can litterally hold on then use JB weld though I have had good luck with this stuff called "Amazing Goop" its a 2 part epoxy and sets up very quick. Without roughing first its nearly impossible to get a good seal cause there is just nothing to adhere too

if your too good for grey duck tape, you could use the blue kind. That's all i've seen work for those materials. You might try wide stitches if you have a sewing machine and are motivated. I think there's also some shit they use to patch tarps. Just use the damn ducktape on both sides.

I have no clue where you are building in. Here is my experience with plastic and duct tape tho... A long long time ago I built this plastic room in a basement, just for fun you know. To get the plastic where I wanted it I ran duct tape sticky side down across all the wood surfaces and stapled the tape to the wood. Then I laid the plastic over this and stapled the plastic into the tape/wood. This worked perfectly. The only requirement being that you would have to have wood walls/ceitling...

???? I have no idea what YOU are talking about . Where did pink and/or green stuff enter the picture? I'm talking about plastic sheeting (clear or black if you prefer) and duct tape (grey). also staples (silvery metal). ????

the best i know of is Duco contact cement . you have to spread it on both surfices , wait for it to get tackie ,then make shure when you put the two peaces together they are in exactly the possion you want cause you an't gonna move it . its water proof and flexable and vary strong . works grate on fishing waders too !

What about building a wooden frame on the ground? Staple the blue tarp in place first, then you can staple the clear stuff on top of it.
