An Incredible Book I Just Finished
    #1034705 - 11/08/02 12:40 AM (21 years, 2 months ago)

Last night at about this exact time (2:30) I finished reading an incredible book called In Search of Captain Zero by Allan C. Weisbecker. Captain Zero, is a memoir about Allan's life. At the same time it is the story of how he traveled to the end of the road (deep central america) tracking down his old friend Cristopher. I think this book was one of the best I've read. It definetely put a new perspective on my own life. Weisbecker also wrote Cosmic Banditos a novel loosely based on his life as a pot smuggler, which I am getting ready to begin reading. Cosmic Banditos is said to put Hunter Thompson shame, and out-gonzo him by a long shot. Check out Weisbeckers website www.aweisbecker.com for some awesome stuff (info on his books, preview chapters, pictorials (he's an award winning photagrapher too), and info on numerous other things). Anyway's I seriously suggest all of you check out his books when you get a chance.

Cosmic Banditos is a beautiful mind fuck, and quite enjoyable. Didn't know it was semi-autobiographical though. Kinda puts a new perspective on it.

Its cool to read the two, and see which fictional aspects where based on true events or real people.
