Brown Rice Protein???

so, i was in the pharmacy today, waiting on a RX to be filled and was browsing through the supplements aisle. i noticed something that caught my eye and wondered if it would have any use in mycology. i believe it was a drink but the only ingredient was "brown rice protein". i suppose the question i have is, does this have an application as a substrate or substrate additive? is this just another renaming of something similar to brown rice flour?
i've done a few searches through the forums and the closest thing i can find to brown rice protein is whey protein (which most of the posts i've read suggest doesn't help much if at all). it's something i may give a shot, if for no other reason, to experiment. i just thought i would try and see if anyone else had any first hand experience.
i hope it is ok to post this link. i am in NO way affiliated with this company, i just googled it and this is a link to the exact same supplement i'm speaking of (only for reference purposes).

i suppose the real question is, what role does protein play in mycellium development and will an increase in protein in the substrate equate to any advantage come fruiting time?

$14 for a pound and a half? It's not a substitute for BRF.

i hadn't really looked at the price yet. i guess i was trying to find out if it had a practical use first. what about as an additive?

I wouldn't bother, protein powder clumps badly, and is expensive. Get a big sack of horse bran at a feed store and use that in place of brf.
