I almost always take my dog along on hunts, provided that we're going to a place where we're not going to see anyone.

My son doesn't like strangers too much.

+1 on taking your dog trespassing.  For one, it's gonna be harder to be sneaky, and second, if you gotta GTFO fast then she'll probably hold you up and give you away.  Plus, dogs typically lack patience so while you're studying your finds, she'll probably be all over the place and bored as shit, but hey, whatever floats your boat.

You ever seen that movie Constantine.  Well they pass into hell several times.  In hell there are melting human bodies, in your tub are melting mushroom bodies.  Your tub had passed into mushroom hell.

I always take my mutts with me.  But then again, I'm never trespassing, so I guess thats a different situation.

Dogs on forays FTW:thumbup:

Its great to let my Rottweiler's roam free in the bush as there is no other place I would walk them off the lead:yesnod:
They know when I have been without them too lol and they get all sniffy and grunty ha ha

Also there is no better excuse when you see someone else out there as you don't look half as shady as them while they are out alone with a bag. You how ever have a bag for dog paraphernalia:yesnod:

here is oz i took my dogs for a look around in the forest. they got scent of some nearby kangaroos and took off. they then got themselves lost and i had to spend the night camped up in a cold forest waiting for them. they dont normally take off without coming back, they were just lost.

after a good night then morning of worrying and searching, i found them both, chasing rabbits in the field.

You want the right dog to take with you.  Not many dogs know anything about magic mushrooms, but that doesn't matter, you can train them.  But you want to get a dog that is obsessive.  What I mean for instance is a dogs that is crazy about his ball or whatever, those are the best kind of dogs to train.  You just fill his toy with magic mushrooms and train him to find it, then he will find your mushrooms for you.

What kind of dogs have good scents for mushrooms? Blood hound might be alright but they probably not fun as a house pet. I want to get a bordercollie, huski or german shepard.

All dogs have an accute sense of smell, it's just a question of which ones can easily be trained.
