ID Request on Illinois Shrooms

Habitat: Where does it grow? Eg. woods, pasture, state, province, country, altitude, etc. What does it grow on? Eg. soil, dung, wood (dead, living, what kind of wood?), etc.
It grew in my backyard (I live in Illinois). It seemed to be growing in the grass.
Gills: Color, attached/not, gills/pores, etc. Gills seemed attached and they were light-regular brownish in color.
Stem: Length, diameter, color, texture, hollow/solid, thin/thick, etc. Very thin stem and each is about an ingh long.
Cap: Diameter, color, texture, conical/spherical, convex/concave, etc. Comes to a sort of nipple at the top. One cap had diameter 2.5 inches
Spore print color: Very important! JUST PICKED THEM TODAY SO I HAVEN'T MADE ONE YET.
Bruising: Color that the mushroom bruises, if any. None
Other information: Scent of the mushroom, anything else you think is important, large close-up pictures showing stem, cap and gills.

Just want to know if these are even active? I'm assuming, since I live in Illinois, these aren't mushrooms I should be eating but since I found a decent amount I might has well have asked

Panaeolina foenisecii. Print them anyway, a very dark brown print will confirm, but a black print is what you'd be looking for

So if it's a very dark brown print or a black print these are legit?
I just wanna know if I can eat these. They smell like mushrooms but then again I haven't smelled shrooms in 2 months.
And I don't really know how to make a spore print? What I did was take the cap of a flonase bottle and put it over the shroom, which is sitting on a piece of paper right now.

No. If it is a brown print, it's not active. A black print with mushrooms that look like these indicates Panaeolus cinctulus, an active species. Be careful tho, the brown print can very well look black. Use a black sharpie and put a black patch next to the print if there's any confusion.

alright I'll let you nkow what the print turns out to be.
But the gills looked light brown in color so I don't think it will end up turning black

The spore print is coming out as I expected it to, it's LIGHT brown in color.
WHat does that indicate?
