Pheonix Oyster, 5 Gallon Bucket Coffee Grounds. Need Advice
    #10408478 - 05/27/09 03:57 PM (14 years, 8 months ago)

Just about 5 minutes ago I got a 5 gallon bucket filled with coffee grounds for free.  The clerk said its about 1-2 days old so it's pretty fresh.  Just your run of the mill coffee grounds from a coffee shop.  My question is can I use the coffee grounds as is or do I need to pasteurize & hydrate to field capacity.  I know coffee grounds are technically already pasteurized but I don't want bacteria to spring up again within that 2 day window that its been sitting in the bucket.  Also, can I modify the bucket to fruit out of?  I figure take a dremel and just start drilling some holes in the sides.

Its hot, its humid, its rainy, I want all that time I spent in the glovebox to pay off.  Any advice appreciated.

How much spawn should I use for about 4 gallons of coffee grounds?
