It's the first exercise program I've ever tried out...but wow! If you can stay motivated and stick with it, you'll be putting on muscle in no time!

P90X...
.....Sounds EXTREME!. Like it's the name of some Motorcycle, or an experimental drug the government has.

1. Barbell/Rubber bands 2. Pull up bar
It's a good program. You will get in much better shape if you follow it. The main concept is "muscle confusion". Once you get used to a certain set of exercises the program switches things up so that you stimulate more muscle growth.
While it is a program that would appear to work for the vast majority of people I have doubts as to its usefulness for very skinny guys (guys who are below 140 pounds). The only way for guys like that to gain weight is to eat 5,000 calories a day and lift very heavy weights. A little guy isn't going to gain 40 pounds of muscle by doing pullups.

If you aren't reasonably fit already it is going to kick your ass and you wont be able to finish...the plyo for sure will murder you.
@AlteredAgain you need a chin up bar, full set of dumbbells or weight bands, chair, stool, mat...recommends pushup stands too

Can't make what work?
You could do the whole program in a walk in closet, you don't need a bunch of room.
