Turns out it was bad spawn. Another tub contaminated a week after spawning, and whilst looking through my jars I found a few that had been fine but after shaking bits of green started to show. All the tubs that contaminated used spawn from the same batch of G2G so must be the problem

i read somewhere its good to double up the spawn on the last layer before your layer of sub, seeing as this is where the tub is going to pinning from,builds a strong network near the action zone. Seems to work.
