i was wondering if it is possible to buy vermiculit that is already sterilized

verm has no nutritinal value for bacteria or fungi or anything (that i know of) so it doesnt really need to be steralized unless you want to be very sterile, or if your mixing it with some nutrient source (brown rice etc)

people dont trust their microwaves but you can use that if you really want to be clean. You really wont get it sterile because you'll come in contact with it in some way to lay the casing layer down. My chi-pet has never sterilized and been fine. The peat moss on the other hand you may want to microwave sterilize, peat moss is more prone to contamination.
