Simple, they don't have lids so they're getting fresh air which along with high humidity, light and full or mostly full colonization caused them to fruit :-D

That's pretty crazy. I'm doing an invitro grow right now, but I'm prolly gonna tape up the sides of my bags so they grow moreso out of the 'top' of the substrate. still gonna be cool to watch. I stole a couple pickle buckets from work for dunking between flushes.

It is quite humid where I live. I just want to make sure the cakes will still be good when they are fully colonized. Will the mushrooms that are in the jar die and rot or something? Birthing the cakes early doesn't sound like a good idea to me based on just about everything I have read. I'll try and take better pics tomorrow. Thanks for taking a look.

It looks like you're gonna have a decent crop before you even birth the damn things.
I'd go ahead and birth them, harvest the mushrooms, cut/scrape off any uncolonized portions, dunk & roll and fruit as normal.

I suppose I'll birth em tomorrow. Are there any cutting/scraping methods I should be aware of? This is definitely not covered in the pf tek I read over and over. I appreciate all your help spongiform.

And my spores are from the sporestore. A buddy of mine had them for months and never used them. I was worried they wouldn't even be viable syringes.

You probably should dry em before they rot. Perhaps open jars are great terrariums for mushrooms?

You're telling me I should open my jars? This I can do tonight. Birthing won't be going on until tomorrow evening. If opening the jars will save my few caps I'm for it but not at the expense of actual flushes.

I'm not saying to just simply open the jars. When I said "dry them out" and I meant, take the mushroom off the cake, and start drying it in front of a fan, or something.
An unpicked mushroom will rot, if it sits too long. Rotten mushies are no fun but you want your mushrooms to be lots of fun.
I don't know if a half colonized cake will produce many flushes. Remember, I am merely speculating.

Grab the mushroom at its base. (Finding the base on yours may or may not be difficult) Grip firmly and twist. One or two twists is usually enough for the mushroom to rip off the cake.

Man i ordered from sporestore months ago and all I got was bunk ol order from vendors dude they are better. Spore syringes can be viably for years as long as you store them in a cool dark place

All 12 of my jars are fruiting invitro. Remember this is my first time. Would it be wise for me to go grain to grain on my first attempt? Check your messages PrepH.

So these are the mushrooms that came off my cakes. My cakes are now dunked in a pot of water. Do these look safe to eat? I'd love to sample them sooon...but I don't want to die from a leaking anus disease. Take a look!
Once I acquire a scale I'll let you folks know what they weigh.
