How to dunk?
    #1039276 - 11/09/02 07:05 PM (14 years, 1 month ago)

I know how to dunk but I would like a tek that uses peroxide or somthing that would make it fairly contamn resistant. My buddy has a few cakes and there not taken care of So I want to fix them for him without fucking my casings up.he broke one all up and put it in a bowl and he expects it to fruit. Can I dunk the crumbelings and just strain out the mycellia?

hello, i'm the guy who wrote the dunk tek.
i've found that the prolonged exposure to peroxide in a dunk stuns the mycellia, setting it back.
better than adding peroxide to the dunk itself is to briefly dip [ 10 minutes ]the cakes, after dunking, in a dilute solution of peroxide [20:1 water:peroxide] or bleach [200:1 water:bleach]. to disinfect the cake's surface.
btw, the actual dunking is best done under refiridgeration.
we have a great deal more info on dunking in our archives at mycotopia, please feel free to read more about it there.
