I started with PR's and had no problems at all.
There a little slow to fruit, but I have had no real issues with the strain, you just have to make sure you follow the Teks to a T. However it?s quite the low yielder, so I would also recommend what Ralphster did.

I started with a slightly altered PF tek and PRs and did okay. Maybe I'm just lucky though.

My friend Gorbag has done PR and Mazatapec, though he only grew one syringe of the latter. He found no discernable difference in the fruiting time after birthing between the two strains, thoug the PR did and consistently does take longer to colonize the substrate.

Again, since this observation is based on one syringe of Mazatapec, and numerous PR's (all but the first syringe are from very dense spore prints from children and grandchildren of the first PR syringe) this may be an irrelevant observation.

But the point is that PR's are not necessarily to be shied away from even for first timers. That's what Gorbag says anyway.
