Carbon monoxide in my house!
    #1038035 - 11/09/02 02:32 AM (15 years, 5 months ago)

For the last few days I've had the CO detector going off sporadically and for the last week I've had a mild headache. The fire dept came and checked it out 5 minutes after I called them they were here. The fireman used a little digital detector to locate the source as the water heater and the CO level in the basement was 47 and significantly lower upstairs. He turned the water heater off and said it needs serviced. For at least the next few days I'll have no hot water, but no headaches too, which is good and no coma or death which is better.

Good thing you've got that detector man. Every year some dumb family without a detector will end up dead by the end of winter in Atlanta, never fails.

I am very sensitive to carbonmonoxide. Up at work, when a truck arives to unload stuff. They always leave their friggin trucks running and the whole building will start to stink like car exhaust. It always makes me feel sick!

That's bad for you to have to breathe all that exhaust. For the last week I'de had mildly ill symptoms, headache, bad feeling in general. It has to have been the CO. I was sensitive to it as well. If I were you I might make an anonymous compliant to OSHA. Hope you feel better. BTW, welcome to the shroomery!
