potency Caps vs Stems

I tried looking for info about this here at the shroomery but i can't find it
can anyone share some info? or direct me to the link? are caps more potent
or is this just a myth?

My guess (and this has no basis) is that someone found out about how the most active part of Amanitas is the cap and then translated that to psilocybine mushrooms.

all fruitbodies are essentially compressed mycelium, (which is why you can take clones from them) so my guess is that all parts of the mushroom are sortof made of the same stuff.. ..

My guess is that the myth started from ignorance not fact. As in people just asumed that since the cap was at the top all the good stuff got put into it and the stem just grew so the cap could rest on it.

I agree, the cap just looks more potent. I don't know why this was even asked in the first place, where do you get caps wihtout stems, or vice versa?

As you can see, there isn't much difference.

ummm the only way a cap would be more potant is if it weighs more then the stem.. usually this is the same question that baffles many, but the alkaloids are greater in the heavier peice. just my 2 cents

Spoes do not contain Psilocybin. That's why they're legal, where as cubensis mushrooms and their cultures are not legal. (In the U.S. anyway)
