Don't Mist Mycellium!?
    #1036434 - 11/08/02 03:36 PM (14 years, 8 months ago)

Swim had amazing rhizomorphic mycellium growth on his casing... The casing looked a tad dry so he proceeded to mist... After the mist had settled.. all the rhizomphoric growth that looked like the beginnings of pin formation no longer appeared all that great anymore... Just wondering if its a bad idea to mist during the pre-pinning stage..

i try to avoid hitting the mycelium. plus if the casing isn't visibly dry i don't mist it.

No, it?s a good idea.

It?s a good thing to knock down mycelium growth that would otherwise lead to overlay.

The casing should be allways moist, never wet.

Do you avoid misting when there are small pins? Or can they handle it.
I always think I'll cause aborts if I mist pins.

I always mist my casings. No harm done.
