Welll pretty much all psilocybian mushrooms have stopped growing in Atlanta except for Gyms.
The mushrooms you read about were probably Psilocybe caerulipes... a mushroom that is considered rare. I've yet to see anyone pick them for sure(there were some in question a while back) on these boards.

P. caerulipes was posted here a few years ago from Ohio by several different people. In fruits there in June and Huly. S for P. caerulsescens, it was orginally discovered in Huntsville alabama and bnamed and never seen again in the USA until it was rediscovered as one of the sacred mushrooms of Mexico yused in divination and healing ceremonies amongst Mazateca and other tribal groups living inthe high Sierra Mazateca range in Oaxca, Mexico. Some say the Weill is very close or could even be a variety of Caerulesens or the two grow in close proximitity to one another and mimic each others appearance. I posted two good pages onthis somewhere in the shroomery with many photos from the ecperts of the fifties along with the confusion from Paul Stamets book where is caerulescenst images look like weiliis and his weillis looked like caerulescens.

anyway they say they are in Missippii als. Am waiting on PApaers from Guzman who promised them to me months ago, He twice told me he airmailed them o me and I still have not gotten them. This was also supose to cover a paper where he claims P. cyanescens is now know of in Kentucky.

Thanks for bringing that post up but that is not the pne. The one I am referring to was about Weilli and P. caerulescens only and had pictures from LK, Stamets, Weil and soem form Guzman and many form Roger Heims original photos and watercolors. OIt might be at the spiritplants but their forum is till missing.
