Hey guys I just got my first myco-bag with a mazatapec syringe, now I want to get it going the right way, right from the start. I read before you inject spores the needle and injector site should be wiped with a alchohal pad or somthing,I don't have any rubbing alchohal or anything like that! The closest thing I have to that shit is Wet ones, wich is little paper towels with aloevera and shit,it does list alchohal on the back but I don't think I should use this! What about peroxide or should I just get rubbing alchohal? Thanks

go to the store and spend a dollar or so on some alcohol. its WELL worth it. contamination is your worst enemy.
the higher % of alcohol the better, but i could only find 91%
you should also invest in some GermX (gel disinfectant for your hands/arms) and Lysol (to spray in the air and on surfaces you are working on).
good luck.

You couldn't be more wrong, the disinfecting power of 70% rubbing alcohol is greater than the 91%. It has to do with it having less water and letting the bacteria create its protective endospore faster.

wipe down the syringe of the needle and heat the tip in a clean burning flame until it is glowing red, then let it rest until it cools, then wipe down the injector site and inoculate.

Definately get the 71% alchohol. It disinfects better. Also, you COULD use paper towel, but I wouldn't use toilet paper. It could leave TP resin all over the injector site. But, If you have to go out to get the alchohol, why not just get some cotton swabs? It could save you heart ache.
On another note, I too got the myco bag and am looking forward to innoculation. Let me know how things go! Also, uyou might want to read my post in this same forum entitled "mycro bags" because the guys here gave me some good info on how to get it started right.

I have been reading everything on the myco-bags,I searched for myco-bag the first time and found like 400 post and I think I have gone through them all! I just innoculated my myco-bag,got some 70% rubbing alchohal and put some on the papertowel and wipe off the needle real good and wiped the area on the bag innoculation spot wipe that clean and then injected about 2 maybe 2 1/2cc,half on one side and half toward the other side,I put it right were the bag and substrate meet and a little around there. I also washed my hands real good before doing anything.I put the bag standing up in a perfect size box I found,it was like perfect fit for the myco-bag even when it feel with air and gets bigger it will still have plenty of room! One reason I did this was becase it needs to be in the dark right now,and another reason is because it should probably be around 80-85 degress so I closed the box up and putt it next to a radiator, that along with the box should keep it nice and warm. Would anything go wrong if I injected 3cc instead of 2 or 21/2cc? It is sorta hard to tell how much I used but I was guessing that all the lines on the syringe with numbers 1-8 meens cc? Thanks

Ok thanks, what about only putting 1cc instead of 2cc,I imagine it would still work. I think I putt like 2cc in because I went down 2 lines on the syringe. Thanks
