? re cyans
    #1035700 - 11/08/02 12:05 PM (15 years, 9 months ago)

theres a nice little patch or cyans in my backyard, and they were coming in very well about a week ago, then it stopped raining.  the pins that were up sort of turned blue all over, like they were massivly bruised, and stopped growing.  Eventually they dried out completely and just sat there for a week as little blue nubs.  then it started raining again, and now they are growing again.
so my question is: what effect (if any) does this have on their potency and edibility?  I assume that it just means the psilocin has oxidized and they're still good to go (if a little less good)  am i wrong on this?  any help is greatly appreciated.

ps- several nice new tawny brown pins have also come up since the rains returned :smirk:

it shouldnt have any effect on potency. You should try to make your patch bigger for next year.

Go to sporeworks and click on that species. It says how to do this and it involves mixing more substrate into your existing substrate to make it larger. Id give it a read
