your lot in life

sometimes the colossal circumstantial and combined forces regarding social, cultural, economic, genetic, spatial, and temporal specifics on my life seem so overwhelming that they debilitate me.
but at the same time it is unique in its combination, so I feel like I have importance as the representation in this world of those wonderfully intricate variables
but I still question freedom and free will, because no one can save you from your joys and sorrows
this trapping feeling is amplified by the incredible knowledge and complexity that makes modern activities possible ...and further by the blatant simplicity which others use to pinpoint your role in the machine, a categorization using personal relations and mode of employment or scholarly interests that strips one of any feeling of identity
meeting people is weird because I imagine them sucking out that information about me as they pass judgment on another social being they must relate to when given little time to fully comprehend my deeper self; I imagine the superficial qualities being written onto a colored, six-sided cube and placed inside a cubbyhole in a shelf within the person's head
there is this strange duality of isolation and connection, for although my difficulties and strengths seem unique, I garner from my communications that the human condition is not so terribly variant
the strangest part is the methodologies of schooling and how little it resembles many occupations - and people are given the same books, same teachers, and respond differently to the ideas, ultimately pursuing wildly different paths into society even with the same stimuli and appearance of opportunities
how strange is it that for 16 years my responsibilities have been to the book, the pen, the paper, and the computer?

If I felt the need to type in metaphorical jibberish to make myself sound intelligent, I'd be confused by life too.

1st 20 years, learn. 2nd 20 years, participate. 3rd 20 years, take a higher spiritual path of learning and participating. 4th 20 years, detach from everything and pursue enlightenment.

its always funny to see the ones like this who just don't get it and then can't be bothered to even try and figure it out. so they try to insult. and it doesn't work. you are indeed confused.

wow, just wow. Don't ever try and inspire anyone with that nonsense. please. Do not, whatever you do, become a teacher. Thats the major problem with schooling. Many teachers and administrators think this way. Come to think of it. Most people in general think this way. Feel fortunate when you come across someone who differs to this above approach. They are the ones taking an active role in making the world a better place.

I dunno...I seem to think that he pretty much hit the nail on the head with that comment
the opening post did, in fact, complicate the hell out of something very very simple...and the person that wrote it used a lot of words to say very little

I am confused. Why? Because the idiot OP thought he would look "deep", "philosophical", or more intelligent by using colorful adjectives that only complicated what he/she was trying to convey.

To anyone who doesn't agree with at least this:

I am willing to bet you're still in the first 20. At least mentally.

True, but you don't truly start 'practicing' until after you've learned enough to do so. I think it takes around 20 years.

maybe you don't start practicing until you've learned enough, but some of us just jump head first into it, provided its not something like brain surgery.

Which is my profession, and it seriously took about twenty years.
